The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is India’s premier nuclear research facility, headquartered in Trombay, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was founded by Homi Jehangir Bhabha as the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET) in January 1954 as a multidisciplinary research program essential for India’s nuclear program. It operates under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), which is directly overseen by the Prime Minister of India.

- Candidates should possess a degree B.E/B.Tech in the streams of Mining/Metallurgy/Mechanical/Instrumentation/Electronics/Electrical/Drilling/CS/Civil/Chemical/Architecture Engineering.
- Candidates should possess an M.Sc degree in the streams of Bio-Science/Life Science/Biochemistry/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Physics/Chemistry.
- M.Lib (Information Science) with 4 yrs of experience in a responsible capacity in a University Level Library after acquiring M.Lib.
- M.Lib (Information Science) with NET Pass.
Scientific Assistant/B:
- Candidates should possess a degree B.Sc. (Food Technology/ Home Science / Nutrition).
Technician/B – Boiler Attendant:

Category I Stipendiary Trainee:
- Candidates should possess a degree B.Sc in the streams of Biochemistry / BioScience/Life Science/Biology/Chemistry/Physics/CS/Agriculture/Horticulture.
- Candidates should possess a diploma in the streams of Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Electronics & Instrumentation/Mechanical/Metallurgy/Architecture/Civil/Automobile Engineering.
Category II Stipendiary Trainee:
- SSC (with Science and Maths) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate PLUS Trade Certificate in the relevant trades.
- Plant Operator: HSC with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths with minimum 60% marks in aggregate
- Laboratory: HSC with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology with minimum 60% marks in aggregate
- Dental Technician – Hygienist/Mechanic: HSC (Science) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate Plus 2 years Diploma recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Application Fees:
Technical Officer/C: Rs 500/- ( SC/ST, PwBD, and Women are exempted )

Selection Process
Technical Officer/C:
Selection will be on the basis of performance in the interview.
In case, the response is more, this Centre reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview by conducting a Computer Based Screening Test in the concerned discipline on an India basis.
The decision of this Centre in this regard will be final.
Scientific Assistant/B and Category-I Stipendiary Trainee:
The Computer Based Screening Test of one-hour duration will be conducted on an Indian basis and will comprise 40 multi-choice questions (choice of 4 options).
3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and a ‘1’ mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
The syllabus for the said examination will be based on subjects at Diploma / B.Sc. level as the case may be.
Those candidates qualifying in the Screening Test shall be shortlisted for interview.
The venue of the interview will be intimated later.
Final selection will be on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the interview and no weightage will be given for marks scored in the Screening Test.
The decision of this Centre in this regard will be final.
Technician/B and Category-II Stipendiary Trainee:
The Selection Process consists of Tests in three stages
Stage 1 – Preliminary Test
Stage 2 – Advanced Test
Stage 3 – Skill Test.
The Computer Based Test will be conducted on an India basis for Stage 1 – Preliminary Test and Stage 2 – Advanced Test for the concerned trade in a single Session.
only those candidates who passed the Stage 1 – Preliminary Test will have their performance evaluated for the Stage 2 – Advanced Test.
Stage 1 – Preliminary Test:
screening Test consisting of 50 multi-choice questions (choice of 4 options) of one-hour duration in the following proportion: Mathematics – 20 questions/Science – 20 questions/General awareness – 10 questions.
3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and a ‘1’ mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
candidates with less than 40% in the general category and less than 30% in the reserved category will be screened out.
Stage 2 – Advanced Test:
The Test will comprise 50 multi-choice questions (choice of 4 options) of two hours duration.
‘3’ marks will be awarded for each correct answer and a ‘1’ mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
A merit List of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2, based on the scores obtained in Stage-2 only.

Stage 3 – Skill Test:
Depending on how many advances to Stage 2, the number of individuals shortlisted for the skill test will vary, but it will not exceed 4 to 5 times the number of openings in each trade.
The Skill Test will be based on Go/No-Go basis.
Based upon the Merit List prepared after Stage 2 – Advanced Test, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage 3.
Candidates clearing the Skill Test will be shortlisted and impaneled in order of Merit based on the marks secured in Stage 2 – Advanced Test.
